Finance officers spend most of their time gathering facts and understanding why invoice, purchase order and receipt values do not agree.
PROCESS INTELLIGENCE / 03 WHAT IT CAN DO
AI Role.
Describe the practical AI action in plain business language.
The AI role converts an opportunity into a precise, testable functional boundary.
AI Role defines exactly what the capability will do inside the redesigned process. It may read and extract information, retrieve approved knowledge, classify a case, detect a pattern, predict a range, recommend a next action, draft content or route an exception. We specify the inputs, expected output, user, timing and integration point so the proposal describes a useful business function rather than a vague assistant or model.
The role also states what AI will not do, when confidence is insufficient and how the work transfers to a person or conventional rule. AI is selected only where language, patterns or probabilistic support add value; stable deterministic steps remain normal workflow automation. This produces the smallest useful capability that can be evaluated without giving a model hidden authority over the process.

The same example follows the complete map so each dependency remains visible from outcome to pilot evidence.
AI extracts the relevant facts, compares them with approved rules, explains likely mismatch causes and prepares a prioritised, source-linked review queue. It cannot amend or release a payment.
Data makes it possible. People keep it accountable.
Evidence required at this step
The exact source records, documents, business rules, historical outcomes and integration points needed for each proposed AI action.
